Newest member to your blog

Hi there,

Just wanted to say "Hi" and thanks for letting me join your group. I'm a real nut for Blackbird designs. I think I always have at least one or two projects going that are their designs. I love their talent!
Here is something I posted on my blog, Sew be it, last month. This is from the book A fine Collection. "February's Hearts". I stitched it on 32 count linen and changed the color from pink to a cream overdyed color. I used the gentle art colors that they suggested.
A real "duh" moment I'm going to admit that I did while stitching this, was that I stitched the original date of 2002 that was on the pattern. Wasn't thinking one bit when doing that. I didn't even notice it until it was almost finished. I would have been ticked if I would have had it framed with that date on it! Thank goodness it was an easy fix.
The basket was tricky. I felt like I was being tortured when stitching it, so I would work on it while my daughter did her math. That way we could be tortured together!

Sorry about the glare on this photo. It was the dead of winter when I took it, and had no desire to go outside! I finished (at least got it framed) last year. This was from the loose feathers collection no.5, "Blackbird's Winter Delivery". I loved the red cranberry fabric that they used for this. A fun stitch!

I was able to take some classes from Barb and Alma a year ago January. They were the most delightful women! I met them again at quilt market in October. If you would like to see some pictures of their visit to Utah the link is here.

Have a great day!

Lorraine, BEAUTIFUL stitching! I love the way that you have everything framed & displayed, too.
